My reply was 30% Libertarian, 20% Devils Advocate, 15% Green, 15% Indifferent, 10% Anybody-But-The-Bum-Who-Is-In-Office, 5% Occupy, 5% Wanna-be 1%er.Joelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14798032801541416461noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1997519179796849230.post-8472225668196153082012-02-04T15:08:15.981-05:002012-02-04T15:08:15.981-05:00I don't really like to label myself either. I ...I don't really like to label myself either. I guess I lean more to the left. More so, because I cannot stand the right.

My view on abortion is this. Don't like abortion? Don't get one. Personally, I think it is wrong, and irresponsible, but that is a personal belief and personal conviction of mine and my wife.

Some of these Christian GOP's make me sick. They are s quick to pat themselves on the back for being against abortion, yet they are pro war. They are all for military spending out the wazoo so we can go and kill others. War and abortion is the same damn thing to me. That is death.

Another thing I can't stand about the conservatives is how people like Nuke Gingrich and other are so big on making gay marriage illegal. They say it's about keeping marriage sacred... Right. Sacred. In a country where divorce is close to 60%... People like Nuke Gingrich couldn't be faithful to his first wife, or his second. Sadly, I think this is common practice among politicians. I would bet all the money in my wallet that 3 out of 4 of these snakes have had or are having extra-marital affairs. What is sacred about marriage again?

Religion. Well, there are things I like and don't like about every religion. I consider myself a Christian, but separate myself from the Christian church. Simply because I believe in trying to live my life in accordance to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Jesus taught "Love your enemies." (Not invade, occupy, bomb and murder them).

Apostle Paul wrote that the only religion God accepts as pure and holy is this "Look after widows and orphans in distress and keep yourself from being polluted from the world" James 4:27.

It does not say, "The only religion God accepts as pure and holy is: Christianity, Catholicism, Buddhism, Islam etc..." It's a principle. Look after the poor and dying and keep yourself from being polluted by this sick and dying society.

My wife and I spent quite a bit of time in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Egypt. All muslim countries. Never have we been so welcomed by people. Entire villages coming out of their houses/huts to come greet us, and invite up into their house for tea. And we are the 'so called infidels?' We had muslim men look us dead in the eye and say "We are praying for you and your country."

Women aren't given the same rights in all muslim countries, and I believe that is wrong. However they are people who (more than Christians) live out their faith. That is what I respect. People who live out their faith. Whatever it might be.

I believe some of these conservatives who paint pretty little halo's on top of their heads are going to be really surprised if they stand before those pearly gates.

As they go and cut budgets that pay people like teachers, police, fire fighters. And go and eliminate funding for people who go into the peace corps while simultaneously keeping or raising their personal tax payer funded income: they can go to hell.

As for myself and my wife, conservative, liberal, whatever. We separate ourselves from all those clowns. We live and vote based on what we feel is morally right. We have a non-profit that feeds 35 children in Kenya everyday. Some call that welfare, some call it a handout, some call it wrong and ask "Well what do you do for the children in this country." blah blah blah.

I'm voting for Obama. Not because I think he can make the change our country needs, but because I fear the right. Hopefully we cans ave enough money and get out of the country before New World Order is issued in.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1997519179796849230.post-41403909736291650002012-02-03T13:23:45.946-05:002012-02-03T13:23:45.946-05:00What divides the two parties?
I do not consider ...What divides the two parties?

I do not consider myself either. I have some very liberal beliefs and I have some very conservative beliefs. I decided to un-label myself as any particular persuasion because I'm not either. Or, I am both.

I hear the governor of Indiana, Mitch Daniels, and the way he talks about women claiming incest and rape simply to get an abortion and I go ballistic. I have very specific (and heavily thought out) views on why abortion should be legal. Does that make me a liberal?

I believe the federal government has completely over-reached and is really disregarding the constitution. I believe wholeheartedly in the right to bear arms. I believe way way way too many people are given un-needed hand-outs from the government. Does that make me a conservative?

I really really don't buy into the whole creationist theory. I believe it was invented as a moneymaking scheme by someone out to make money. Who? No idea. That makes me a liberal.

I want ZERO tax dollars sent to the middle east. I want alternative fuel. I want to drill in Alaska for current needs. I believe in green living. I do not like the muslim religion because I believe the literal interpretation of it subjugates women.(Just as the literal interpretation of the Bible makes women live in a hut away from her family one time a month) I really don't like any religion except maybe Rastafarianism and my hair is too short, straight and blonde for dread locks. I think the rules of engagement our soldiers are forced to work with are dangerous. All of the aforementioned put together and I am liberservative. Or crazy.

I guess what I am saying is- the labeling is what is divisive. I bet people from very far spectrums will find they have more in common than they ever knew, if the libtard/right wing nut business would stop. You cannot read a news story without someone labeling someone else's comments with those two jabs.

Lori BarberAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
